Meet Nikki

Nikki Christensen AMFT, Therapist

Hi, I’m Nikki Christensen, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with a passion for helping children and families learn to manage their own emotions and to work together better. I enjoy looking at the big picture and seeing how different parts of a group influence one another. My goal is to create a space where people feel empowered to examine their current patterns and explore healthy alternatives that align with their goals and values in order to improve connection and relationships.

I focus on giving children the ‘inner toolbox’ they need to navigate the big feelings and social world around them. I help children move from simply reacting to their emotions to truly understanding them. In our sessions, we work on identifying feelings, building the self-management skills to pause and choose a helpful response instead of an impulsive one. Beyond just managing behavior, I focus on the ‘bridge’ to others: building empathy, reading social cues, and learning how to solve conflicts with others. My goal is to help your child find their voice and their confidence, providing them with the emotional blueprint they need to be resilient, self-aware, and connected.

Conflict — whether it’s with a partner, your family, or the internal battle within yourself — is often just a protest against losing connection. If you’re ready to stop fighting against the people you love or the person you are, and start fighting for the relationships and the life you deserve, I’m here to help you navigate the way back. Let’s get started.”
